A 47-year-old woman with stage 4 cancer issues an urgent warning about a subtle symptom she had overlooked

Minor, fleeting discomforts, aches and pains we attribute to routine… But what if something deeper lurks behind these signs? One woman decided to share her story, not to scare, but to raise awareness.
A tiredness we consider “normal.”
Susan, 47, an active mother of two, often felt exhausted. A tiredness she attributed to everything life threw at her: work, responsibilities, short nights… So much so that sometimes she would stop her car just to take a quick nap.

At the time, she didn’t see anything wrong with it. “We thought we were just exhausted, like everyone else,” she confessed. But in retrospect, she realizes that this extreme and persistent fatigue deserved to be heard.

Subtle but revealing symptoms

During a trip to France, Susan suffered from constipation, a problem she had never experienced before. She attributed it to changes in her diet or the stress of the trip. In short, nothing alarming, she thought.

But upon returning home, she experienced intense pain. Enough to warrant a doctor’s visit. Routine tests revealed nothing worrisome, and she was advised to rest. However, she still had the feeling that something was wrong.

Today, Susan wants her story to be helpful to all those (men and women) who feel that something is wrong, even without immediate medical testing. Because sometimes, the tests are normal, the opinions reassuring… but the feeling remains.

Their message is simple and important: if a symptom persists, even if it’s subtle, it shouldn’t be ignored. It could be unusual fatigue, a new ache, or subtle changes in how our body functions.

Breaking taboos to better protect yourself

Some topics remain taboo, especially when it comes to digestive health or chronic fatigue. However, these are often the first signals our bodies send us. Susan reminds us that taking care of ourselves also involves listening carefully to our own emotions.

For her, sharing her story has become a mission. She even founded an association to raise awareness, inform, and support those going through similar experiences. A wonderful example of solidarity, born from personal experience, to transform our experience into collective strength.

Sometimes, listening to our bodies can change everything.
