Everything was as usual: crispy cone, sweet aroma, soft chocolate layer on top. But just a second later I heard her shout in surprise:

“Mom, come see what’s here!”

I got closer and saw something strange, dark inside — like a piece of packaging or caramel. At first we thought it was just a defect, then — that a piece of chocolate might have gotten in. But my daughter, who has always been curious, decided to carefully dig it out with a spoon.

Inside the ice cream was a small body with a tail and pincers. It was a scorpion. A real one, although dead. From the size it was obvious that it was quite small.

We were speechless. The first thing that crossed my mind was — how did it get there in the first place? Maybe it happened back at the factory, when the cones were being filled? Or, even more frightening, did it get in after packaging, freezing in the sweet mass?

We were disgusted and scared. My daughter couldn’t look at the ice cream for a long time – her hands were shaking. I immediately took a picture of the find and sent a complaint to the manufacturer.

From that moment on, even the thought of ice cream brings an unpleasant feeling. Because you never know what’s hiding under that perfectly smooth chocolate layer…
