Coated Peanuts for Appetizers: 4 Ingredients | Homemade Snack Flour-Free, Gluten-Free

 

 Homemade Coated Peanuts Recipe

Perfect for appetizers and snacking!

Ingredients (4 only):

  • 2 cups raw peanuts (shelled)

  • 2 egg whites (acts as binder)

  • 3 tbsp cornstarch (or potato starch, keeps it gluten-free)

  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)

(Optional: paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, or herbs for extra flavor)

Instructions:

1️⃣ Prepare the peanuts

  • Rinse peanuts quickly and pat them dry with a towel.

  • Preheat your oven to 170°C (340°F).

2️⃣ Make the coating

  • In a bowl, lightly whisk the egg whites until foamy.

  • Add peanuts to the egg whites and mix well so each peanut is coated.

3️⃣ Add the starch

  • Sprinkle cornstarch and salt over the peanuts.

  • Toss until all peanuts are evenly coated with a light powdery layer.

4️⃣ Bake

  • Spread the coated peanuts in a single layer on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and crunchy.

5️⃣ Cool & Enjoy

  • Let them cool completely (they’ll get crispier as they cool).

  • Store in an airtight jar to keep them crunchy.
