Homemade Coated Peanuts Recipe
Perfect for appetizers and snacking!
Ingredients (4 only):
2 cups raw peanuts (shelled)
2 egg whites (acts as binder)
3 tbsp cornstarch (or potato starch, keeps it gluten-free)
1 tsp salt (or to taste)
(Optional: paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, or herbs for extra flavor)
Instructions:
Prepare the peanuts
Rinse peanuts quickly and pat them dry with a towel.
Preheat your oven to 170°C (340°F).
Make the coating
In a bowl, lightly whisk the egg whites until foamy.
Add peanuts to the egg whites and mix well so each peanut is coated.
Add the starch
Sprinkle cornstarch and salt over the peanuts.
Toss until all peanuts are evenly coated with a light powdery layer.
Bake
Spread the coated peanuts in a single layer on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and crunchy.
Cool & Enjoy
Let them cool completely (they’ll get crispier as they cool).
Store in an airtight jar to keep them crunchy.
