Cottage Cheese Sticks

Introduction (short)

Cottage

Cheese Sticks are a crunchy, cheesy  snack that’s golden on the outside and soft inside. Easy to make and packed with flavor, they’re perfect as an appetizer, party snack, or a side dish for

 dipping sauces.

Ingredients

1 cup cottage cheese (pressed or firm type)

½ cup grated mozzarella or cheddar cheese

1 egg

2 tablespoons cornstarch

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Oil for frying

For the Coating (optional for extra crunch):

½ cup flour

1 beaten egg

½ cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

In a bowl, mix cottage cheese, mozzarella, egg, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Stir until the mixture is thick and holds together.

Form into stick shapes using your hands or shape inside a mold.

If using a coating, dip each stick in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.

Fry the cheese sticks until golden brown on all sides (about 2–3 minutes per side).

Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serve hot with ketchup, spicy mayo, or garlic dip.

How to Make

Combine the cheese mixture until firm and moldable.

Shape into sticks or logs and coat with breadcrumbs if desired.

Fry until perfectly golden and crispy.

Drain and serve immediately while warm and melty.

Variations

Bake instead of frying for a lighter version (375°F / 190°C for 15–18 minutes).

Use paneer or halloumi instead of cottage cheese for a firmer texture.

Add chopped herbs like parsley or oregano for extra flavor.

Mix a bit of chili flakes or jalapeños for a spicy twist.

Serve with marinara or honey mustard dipping sauce.

Tips

Press cottage cheese slightly to remove excess water.

Don’t overcrowd the pan — fry in batches for even browning.

Use medium heat so the sticks cook evenly without burning.

Chill shaped sticks for 15–20 minutes before frying to keep their shape.

Serve immediately while hot and gooey inside.

Conclusion (short)

Cottage Cheese Sticks are a simple yet irresistible snack — crispy, cheesy, and bursting with flavor. Serve them fresh and hot for a snack everyone will love!
