Ingredients
350g ground beef
1 bunch of parsley (finely chopped)
1 onion (finely chopped)
20g breadcrumbs
1 pinch of nutmeg
3 tbsp spicy ketchup
1 egg
1 tsp salt
Pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ingredients
Start by finely chopping the parsley and onion for added flavor and moisture.
2. Mix the Meatball Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with breadcrumbs.
Add the chopped parsley and onion, mixing everything thoroughly.
3. Add Binding Ingredients
Crack the egg into the bowl, and mix in the spicy ketchup, salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg.
Use your hands to gently combine all ingredients until evenly mixed. Avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender.
4. Shape the Meatballs
Roll the mixture into small balls about the size of a walnut. Set them aside on a plate or tray.
5. Cook the Meatballs
Heat a little oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
Fry the meatballs in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 7-10 minutes, turning occasionally until browned on all sides and fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 160°F/70°C).
Transfer the cooked meatballs to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
6. Optional Finishing Touch
For extra assurance, you can bake the fried meatballs in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 5-7 minutes to ensure they are cooked through.
