Nopal & Lime Vitality Juice Recipe

What is Hydrated Lime - It's Magic! - LIVE Stream 01-19-2022 Ask the Builder

This refreshing green juice made from fresh nopal (prickly pear cactus) and lime is a traditional wellness drink known for its cleansing, hydrating, and energizing properties. Nopal is rich in antioxidants, fiber, and essential nutrients that support digestion, blood sugar balance, and inflammation reduction. Lime adds a burst of vitamin C and enhances the flavor with a tangy brightness. Together, they create a revitalizing tonic that’s perfect for mornings, detox routines, or as a natural support for metabolic health. This recipe is simple, effective, and deeply rooted in holistic traditions.

SERVINGS: This recipe yields 1–2 servings. It can be doubled or tripled for batch preparation or family use.

NOTE:

Nopal selection: Use young, tender cactus pads for best texture and flavor. Older pads may be tougher and more mucilaginous.
Cleaning tip: Always wear gloves or use tongs when handling raw nopal to avoid pricks.

Flavor balance: Nopal has a mild, slightly tangy taste. Lime and honey help balance its natural earthiness.
Ginger: Adds warmth and digestive support but can be omitted for a milder flavor.
Mint: Enhances freshness and cooling effect, especially in warm weather.

Storage: Best consumed fresh. If needed, store in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Shake well before drinking.
Consistency: For best results, drink regularly—2–3 times per week as part of a wellness routine.
Avoid overuse: Nopal is high in fiber and may cause bloating if consumed in excess. Start with small servings.
