Hush—keep this kitchen secret quiet! This dish is unbelievably delicious and incredibly easy to make. We find ourselves cooking it all the time.


 

These oven-crisped taquitos are filled with seasoned chicken or beef and plenty of cheese, giving you a crunchy, flavorful bite—no frying required.

Ingredients

  • Small corn tortillas – 8
  • Cooked, shredded chicken or beef – 2 cups
  • Shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack) – 1 cup
  • Ground cumin – 1 tsp
  • Garlic powder – 1 tsp
  • Onion powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt and pepper – to taste
  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp

    Instructions

    Step 1: Preheat & Combine Filling
    Heat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a mixing bowl, stir together the shredded chicken or beef, cheese, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and a bit of salt and pepper until fully combined.

    Step 2: Make Tortillas Pliable
    Microwave the corn tortillas briefly to soften them so they roll without tearing.

    Step 3: Fill & Roll
    Place about 2 tablespoons of filling near one edge of each tortilla, then roll them up tightly.

    Step 4: Get Them Ready to Bake
    Arrange the rolled tortillas seam-side down in a baking dish, fitting them snugly together. Lightly brush the tops with olive oil for extra crispiness.

    Step 5: Bake to Crisp Perfection
    Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the tortillas turn golden and crisp.

    Step 6: Serve
    Allow the taquitos to cool slightly, then dig in!
