: For an old-fashioned preparation, you will need:
3 eggs,
180g sugar,
200g wheat flour
, 80ml vegetable oil (or 100g softened butter),
100ml milk,
1 packet of baking powder,
zest of one lemon (or vanilla, if you prefer),
icing sugar for decoration.

Preparation:
1. Whisk the eggs with the sugar.
Beat the eggs and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
2. Add the wet ingredients.
Add the oil (or melted butter if you prefer a traditional version) and the room-temperature milk. Continue mixing.
3. Mix the dry ingredients.
Add the sifted flour, baking powder, and lemon zest. Gently fold from the bottom up to avoid overmixing.
4. Pour into the pan.
Grease and flour a round cake pan (22-24 cm in diameter). Pour in the batter and smooth the top.
