Ingredients:
For the Bread:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
2 large eggs
1 cup whole milk (or buttermilk)
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions:
Preheat Oven:
Set the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
3. Mix Wet Ingredients:
In another bowl, whisk melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until combined.
4. Combine Ingredients:
Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring just until incorporated. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread soft and fluffy.
5. Bake the Bread:
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. If the top starts browning too fast, cover loosely with foil.
6. Add Cinnamon Sugar Topping:
While the bread is still warm, brush the top with melted butter. Mix sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the loaf.
7. Cool and Serve:
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Tips & Variations:
Extra sweet: Drizzle a simple glaze of powdered sugar and milk over the top.
Nutty twist: Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts on the cinnamon sugar topping.
Spicy hint: Add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the batter for extra flavor.
Make ahead: Store in an airtight container for 2–3 days or freeze slices for later.
