Early Menopause: 10 Signs (and More) to Watch Out For

Brain fog: when the brain shuts down

Do you have trouble concentrating? Following a conversation? Or finding that cursed word on the tip of your tongue? This phenomenon, often described as  “brain fog  ,” can be directly linked to  hormonal fluctuations.

Tingling, pinpricks… What if it’s hormonal?

Unusual sensations in the hands or feet, such as numbness, itching, or tingling, may occur due to nerve damage related to the  drop in estrogen .

Dry eyes and blurred vision: an unexpected side effect

Dry eyes are common during menopause. The glands that naturally moisturize the eyes become less effective, causing  irritation and visual discomfort  .

Changing body odor

Some women notice that their body odor changes. Sweating becomes more abundant and sometimes  more acidic . This phenomenon is explained by hormonal changes and the increase of certain bacteria  on the skin .

Fine hair, tight skin

The less estrogen there is, the drier, thinner, and more sensitive the skin becomes. Hair thins and loses volume, while slight fluffiness may occur on the face. These transformations can be slowed down with  proper care and a balanced lifestyle  .

And even… Digestive problems

Bloating, slow bowel function, gas, loss of appetite: the digestive system also reacts to this hormonal upheaval. It is affected by the  decrease in estrogen , which interferes with digestion and overall metabolism.

In short: knowing better means living better.

Early menopause is neither a myth nor a taboo. It’s a reality experienced by thousands of  women in France , sometimes as young as 35. By recognizing these signs early, you can anticipate them, adjust your lifestyle, and seek advice at the right time.  Never forget: everyone talks, you just have to know how to listen.

There are many reasons why a person may suffer from nighttime muscle cramps.

The most common causes are often:

Lack of hydration:
A lack of hydration can cause severe muscle cramps. Composed mainly of water (75%) and proteins (20%), our muscles are the first to suffer from cramps when our body is not well hydrated. In addition, water promotes good blood circulation throughout our body, which considerably reduces the risk of suffering from muscle cramps during your sleep.

Magnesium deficiency:
If you suffer from a magnesium deficiency, it is very likely that you will often suffer from muscle cramps, at the slightest false movement or sudden movement. Drink plenty of water and eat healthily by favoring foods rich in magnesium such as wholemeal bread, dark chocolate, nuts or even bananas!

Prolonged physical efforts:

Apart from sports, simply standing for a long time or wearing uncomfortable shoes can lead to muscle cramps. So be careful not to exert too much physical effort if you are not used to it. In which case, it is imperative that you warm up before starting a series of 100 push-ups. Also, choose comfortable shoes that will not cause cramps.

Alcohol abuse:
Excessive alcohol consumption can also cause muscle cramps. Indeed, alcohol is known to damage muscles if consumed in large quantities and often (almost daily!). In the long term, a significant amount of alcohol can cause muscular myopathy, a muscular condition that can be either acute (and which can cause muscle pain just a few hours after drinking alcohol) or chronic (appearing gradually…).Some medications:
Taking certain medications can also cause muscle cramps. Medications such as antipsychotics, steroids or even birth control pills mostly cause a loss of potassium in our body and promote the appearance of muscle cramps.

How to avoid them?
Fortunately, there are simple and natural solutions to prevent the onset of muscle cramps. All you need to do is:

Drink plenty of water throughout the day
Eat a varied and balanced diet
Wear comfortable shoes
Take a warm bath before going to bed
Practice various relaxation techniques (yoga can be an excellent technique to help you relax)
Do exercises that help strengthen your ankles
Limit or even eliminate harmful substances such as alcohol
Be aware that there are also several simple and natural recipes that help you stop having muscle cramps. Here is one of them:Ingredients:
Rosemary essential oil (or pine or eucalyptus oil)
Olive oil
Recipe:
Mix the two oils in equal doses (a few drops are enough) and warm them between your hands. Then, apply the mixture to the area affected by the cramp so that the heat and the virtues of the oils help to calm your pain. This is because rosemary essential oil has anti-inflammatory properties and acts as a circulatory and muscular tonic. In addition, olive oil moisturizes the skin, tones it and nourishes it deeply
